Egg Run 2003
6th Annual Easter Egg Run -
22nd March 2003
We met at The Bee Hive Pub before setting off at just after
12.15pm to take Easter Eggs and some toys to The Manor Respite
Home, The Sue Ryder Home and the Children's Ward of the Peterborough
District Hospital. We counted 150 scooters for the ride out.
What a huge buzz for those taking part and for the onlookers
who waved us on as we rode through the streets of Peterborough.
Only with a slight delay at The Manor Respite Home (due to
the Police outriders having to attend an incident in the city)
the ride out went smoothly. Easter egg donations were given
by individual scooterists and non-scooterists together with
our main sponsor Waitrose and other supermarkets (Sainsburys
and Asda) and the various scooter clubs to include Aldershot
A5 Tribesmen SC, Lincoln SC, Corby Steelman SC, Leicester
Phoenix, Leicester Second Coming, Kettering Massive, Blue
and Gold SC, Peterborough Patriots SC, Northampton Strangetown
SC, Ronnie Biggs SC, Isle of Ely SC, together with The Specials
Scooter Club, East London and VFM*.
There was a great turn out in the evening with over 200 people
coming through the doors. Clubs that attended and made themselves
known to us included Aldershot A5 Tribesmen SC, Lincoln SC,
Corby Steelman SC, Kettering Massive, Peterborough Patriots
SC, Northampton Strangetown SC, Ronnie Biggs SC, Blue and
Gold SC, Isle of Ely SC. Apologies if any club is missed out
but we are happy to update this section if you let up know
that you also attended - cheers. Entertaining us on the night
were live band, Repeat to Fade, with DJ's Tony Kreer and Keith
Wilcox.
