Billy & Eddie

Well where do I start ... Meeting place P'boro services 9am. I got there about quarter to nine closely joined by Eddie. We hung around til quarter past then decided we were the only two mad enough to face the wind and rain to The Pie & Mash shop in Blechley for the Tin Soldiers egg run. So we set off ... Oundle-Rushden-Bedford and on to MK. Rain stayed away, found the shop without too much trouble. We were met with a great sight of 50+ scooters already lined up. We introduced ourselves to the various scooterists who all seemed to be warming up with with hot drinks. Me and Eddie got a coffee and once we regained the feeling in our fingers we began to give out The PLVSC flyers for next weeks run (from the chats we had it should be a good turnout) 11:30hrs came and in a cloud of blue 2 stroke we set out on a very well organised ride out around numerous places in the MK area. Special mention to the marshalls who done a great job of stopping the traffic. We stopped off at MK hospital and some children came out to recieve some eggs. The rest of the eggs were taken to the ward. Back to Pie & Mash shop in freezing rain. Not to worry The Tin soldiers had arranged for a nice buffet & free hot drinks for us all. Dried out and warmed up we said our goodbyes and off we set for home. All going well until I looked back on the Bedford bypass and Eddie was missing. I had to go all the way to Black Cat roundabout until I could turn round and found Eddie on a flyover bridge his T5 had a heat siezure. So I continued home alone planning to fetch my van and return to pick him and his scooter up. Luckily after I left his mate got in touch and was on his way to get him. Nice to be back in the warm. Big thank you to All Tin Soldiers and everyone else I met today. Cheers cya all soon ... 'Si Billy Boss'
