PLVSC 9th Annual Easter Egg Run
Saturday, 25th March 2006
The Fleet Centre, Fleet Way, Fletton,
Peterborough, PE2 8DL

We could not have hoped for such
a great day. The weather during the week had been miserable,
but with just a little overnight rain, we woke to a beautiful
sunny spring morning with rain forecast for late afternoon.
Perfect.
Club members met up from 9.30am
to meet the stall holders, food stall, Police motorcycle riders
and to generally set up. Scooters from all over started arriving
from 10.30am.

Designed by Terry The Mod
Some of the clubs who attended
and signed in included Billy No Mates SC, Bedford Pilgrims
SC, Cromwell Cruisers, Cow and Chicken SC, Ronnie Biggs, Mansfield
Monsters SC, Burton Brewers, Market Harborough, Kettering
Massive SC, AFSC (Armed Forces SC), Spalding SC, Holbeach,
Lifestyle SC, Finedon SC, Norwich SC, Strangetown SC, Blue
and Gold SC, Leicester Phoenix, Leicester Second Coming, Full
Circle SC.

They're starting even younger these days or is it just that
we're getting older?!

Custom show entrants lining up.

With the rogues gallery of trophy winners done for another
year it was on with the business of the longest/largest PLVSC
Egg Run ever with an unbias count from a non-PLVSC member
of about 230 riders taking part and delivering more than 500
Easter eggs.

And we're away ...

Snaking around the parkway

Our first stop at The Manor Respite Home, where valuable
temporary respite care is made available for children with
special needs to allow parents and carers to take a break.
The children were over-joyed to see the scooters and Easter
eggs.

As far as the eye could see - an amazing sight ...

We couldn't fit everyone on the steps this year for the usual
photograph and not all the scooters/scooterist could fit into
The Sue Ryder Hospice parking area. Sue Ryder will
use all the Easter eggs presented to them at their annual
fund-raising egg hunt on April 13th. Without the eggs the
event would not be so effective. Last year they raised over
£1,400. Hopefully with the huge amount of eggs given,
this year's total should exceed last year. Thanks also go
out to Waitrose (Peterborough) and The GMB Union (Peterborough
Branch) for egg donations and to

Pete Revell at Classic Gold for advertising the event and
collecting egg donations.
Thank you to the three Police motorcycle riders,
without their support our ride through the streets of Peterborough
would not happen.

Well done to everyone who attended and donated - you all
made it a huge success.
Thank you from all of us at PLVSC.
The evening started at 7.30pm ... kicking off with
a varied selection of classic/modern scooterist tracks courtesy
of Top scooterist DJ 'Tony Class'

Live Band 'Eton Rifles' raised the roof by playing
a Mod set followed by a Ska set to include cover tracks from
The Jam, The Who, The Small Faces, The Specials, The Selecter
and more!

Thank you to everyone who attended the evening do, especially
those that bought raffle tickets. £100 was raised for
Anglia One (our local Air Ambulance).

Shouts go out to the following scooter clubs (who signed
in - apologies if we miss any clubs from this following list):
Ronnie Biggs, Burton Brewers, Trojan Skinheads, Blue and Gold,
Finedon SC, Kettering Massive, Lifestyle SC, Billy No Mates
SC, Full Circle SC, and Northampton's Strangetown SC who won
the trophy for the Best Turned Out Club.
Corky and Sherrie visited the Amazon Children's Ward
at Peterborough District Hospital the following Monday morning
and took chocolate Easter eggs for the children being cared
for on the ward.
Hello everyone, what a great day yesterdays
Easter egg run was, even if I do say so myself! We had a superb
turnout of scooters for the egg run from numerous scooter
clubs and individual riders. Too many clubs to mention at
this time. We also had a great turnout for the evening do
at The Fleet. Even the weather was good to us! I would like
to thank on behalf of PLVSC everyone who donated eggs, turned
up for the egg run, turned up for the evening do or helped
in anyway on the day. Your support was much appreciated with
a record amount of eggs being donated and a record turnout
of scooters, with a last count by a non-PLVSC member being
236. Great effort by all. We would also like to thank The
Fleet for the venue, Eton Rifles for a superb gig and Tony
Class for another great nights dj-ing. Also the Peterborough
Police for the escort around our City, Royal Mail for the
loan of the van and Adrian (Black Adder) Murphy for volunteering
to drive the van. I personally would like to thank all PLVSC
members for their support and help on the day which helped
to make (I hope you agree) it a great day for everyone. Especially
to Sherrie who without her fantastic contribution the Egg
Run would struggle to take place. Oh sorry, two more thank-yous
have to be said, one to Waitrose in Peterborough for the donation
of £100 of Easter eggs and another to The Peterborough
Branch of The GMB Union who between them (with a little bit
of begging included!) donated over 100 eggs and chocolate
bits and pieces to our cause. We also raised £100 on
the raffle which will be donated to The East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Thanks again for all your help and support, see you next year.
Corky...PLVSC
