Filming of 'Brighton Rock' 2009

22nd October:

Hello all and thanks for the kind comments!! lol.. Well what an Amazing Journey!!! First of all, I just wanna Thank Simon Billy Bosett! who without I would never of been able do it!!!! so thank you big time mate!!!

From start to finish, it was fantastic! What a laugh we had driving down to Eastbourne asking random people, "Any mods about" lol. When we got there, the first thing we did was build up my Lammy on the street infront of everybody lol. We then dropped off my scooter at a place the film company called 'Unit Base' where the lead role's scooters were and all the production team was based. Me and Siboss cheekly asked if we could have our pics taken next to the soon to be famous scooters lol.. Our next mission was get my hotel room sorted and then off for fish and chips!!!.. Simon soon left for his long journey back to the Boro! I went back to my hotel room and got myself an early night for my big day..

23rd October - The Big Day, Part 1:

Well I arrived at the 'Unit Base' at 05:00 where all the extras gathered and signed in.. lots of vans were turning up dropping off scooters and lots of people dressed up in their mod gear, rocker gear and even police uniforms were arriving by the second lol. Bacon butties and coffee were the morning gut filler! By the time we were ready to go there must of been 200++ mods and 40 rockers ready for action. A coach came to pick up those who didn't have scooters and took them to the pier and for all of us that did have scooters we had a fantastic rideout down the beach front to the pier! We were told to park up and wait for the director to tell us to get on set and get into character. Everybody was soon to be told to get on the pebble beach front! It was amazing how they had changed the Eastbourne Pier into the Brighton Palace Pier that is now burned down ... so back to the story.

All the mods were on one side of the pebble beach under the pier and all the rockers were on the other side about 50 metres away. There were rockers on the pier as well. First we were told to cheer the famous line: "WE ARE THE MODS" and u know the rest lol. After rehearsing it many times we were ready..

Next, and I could not believe my eyes, Phil Davies aka Chalky walked passed me and I was the only one who spotted him and with my camera, secretly hidden in my coat, I asked Chalky if I could have my picture taken with the legend!! And for more legendary moments I got my pic taken with the lead actor, Sam Riley who plays Pinky and who played Ian Curtis in the film Control! The guy was a true gent and really down to earth and so was Chalky! So they were practising their parts and we were waiting to be told "ACTION" for our scene of cheering "We are the mods".

After an hour the stunt co-ordinator came and told us that we were gonna be doing the riot scenes lol, which we were given rubber rocks and suger glass bottles and rubber bits of wood lol.

The Big Day, Part 2:

After being handed all our props we were ready! The plan was this: Sam and Phil walk passed us while we cheered at the rockers, we then lobb rocks at the rockers and then a stuntman dressed as a rocker called 'Mod Crusher' gets smashed off the pier and falls to the pebbles below and we all rush in and fight the rockers under the pier! It was very very tiring after many many takes fighting! But was awesome as I got to stamp/kick/punch many rockers but the bloody director would say "CUT" we gotta do it again lol. What was happening was people were laughing and smiling while the fights were kicking off and they didn't want that! So that scene pretty much took most of the day! It was also shot in many different angles, one funny moment for me was when I had this rocker and I was kneeing him and kicking him and he grabbed my legs as he was on the floor and he said "Your coming down with me pal" lol, so I fell to the ground and as I was so knackerd from getting up I managed to do so but I ended up using a stuntmans head to stand on and the poor guys head was being pushed into the stones of the beach. I felt so bad lol. We were then told to do the next scene.

The Big Day, Part 3:

The next scene was less tiring for me as I got to sit on my scooter lol. In this scene Phil Davies and Sam Riley are both on Sam's scooter and they ride past me with my fellow little group of mods, we then get off and walk slowly behind them as they park up and then we walk into our massive gang of mods on the beach. this was also cut many times so they got it spot on! Well after the third take Phil walked past me and I asked him if I could have a picture taken of him on my scooter and he happliy said "yes"!!! I was over moon! After that was done we all broke for dinner and we all got fed nice aswell ;) !!!!

When we got back we had to film the final scene for us which involved us fighting and chasing the rockers and getting hit by the police where we were fighting them too, as I lobbed a few rubber bricks at em LMAO! I have loads more to tell but my fingers hurt and I'm still aching from the scrapping lol. I have also taken loads of pictures but not sure when to put them on as I don't want to get in any trouble with the film makers!
