Message : What a fantastic time the PLVSC had at Strangetown SCs Rally at the weekend.I was too ill to make the Friday night but glad i was well enough to make the Saturday as it was superb as usual and what a laugh it we had around our campsite until the early hours of Sunday morning!!Great company with great friends in a great scooter club.We also won 5 trophies The Best Turned Out Club,The 5 a Side Football,The Best Auto Scooter with Adens Auto Lammy,The Best Vespa with my Sportique and The Helmet Toss as usual thanks to Pete!One bad point was that some thieving local scumbags pinched 4 scooters at around 4am on the Sunday morning.Pity they wasnt caught cos they would have got the hiding they deserved!!I have now heard that all four scooters have been recovered and that at least two were damaged.I think we need security there next year.I would like to thank all PLVSC members that turned up for helping make it a such a great rally and everyone in Strangetown SC (especially John) for their efforts in putting on one of the best rallies around.Im looking forward to Strangetown 2010! |

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay cheque, I work on a rig for a drilling contractor. I am required to pass a random urine test for drugs and alcohol, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who do not have to pass a urine test.
Shouldnt one have to pass a urine test to get a benefits cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass drinking beer and smoking dope,playing x box games and looking at a HD TV !!
Could you imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque?
Feel free to pass this on, because something has to change in the UK , and soon!

Message : Great company at the weekend both in Camber and at the Cherry Tree Sunday night.The Replicas were great both in Camber and at the pub on Sunday.I was dissapointed with the other bands at Camber apart from a Ska band (Skatonics i think)on the Friday night in my opinion it was poor.Roll on next weekend as its the Roade Rally near Northampton and The Replicas are playing on the Saturday night there. |

Message : Blimey what a weekend ! First up is a MASSIVE THANKS to all of you who gave us some love support and attention, at what was potentially a fairly awkward gig down at camber. I feel we left with our growing reputation still in tact. I think all the band had some nice comments, mostly from the club, but a good few from people we didnt know ! Then we returned home and got back in front of a loyal crowd and your energy was still there with us. Not only that but most of the club were there, again i and we say thanks. Next up is Northampton and we fully intend to err ....av it LARGE !! Big ta to sue for me satday mornin bacon roll,and also to steve and gary for giving me a bed for the nite x.

Next sunday ( july 5th ) the replicas are doing a special gig in the function suite at the cherry tree. Free entry and we are on at 7pm. The bands day was called off due 2 the council not giving the venue an outside music licence. But we felt that too many people were gonna turn up (not just 4 us) so we wanted to also give the expectant crowd something. There will be another act on at 6pm in the bar area. Message : I want to say a big thank you to all of you for your kindness. It is very much appreciated. I do feel a bit stupid for not seeing the diesel. After all these years of riding on two wheels I must have let my guard down. Despite the hot weather glad I had all my bits covered up - learnt my lesson as a pillion rider when I was 17. Take it from me, gravel is horrible to pick out of your skin! Anyway, I am really pleased that whilst I lay in the road it helped you all to avoid the diesel and BIG .. no ... MASSIVE thanks for not running me over!!!! Thanks to all of you who helped at the time especially to Grinner for picking my scooter off the road and to Rob for taking it home in your van. Message : Thanks to everyone for your kind messages regarding Sherries scooter accident on the way home from Rutland Water yesterday and thanks to you all for your help at the scene and to Rob for taking her scooter home in his van.As Simon already said we had to go to the hospital twice as the first doctor was SHITE and released her saying there was nothing wrong with her hand(no strapping no painkillers no help at all!!) and he didnt even check her hip!On the way home she was in agony and her thumb kept coming out of the socket so we went back.After another 2 hours in there she was checked again by a good doctor and her hand around the thumb area was broken.Not only that the force of the blow had ripped her ligament off her bone pulling a bit of bone off the main bone!She will be in plaster for 4 to 6 weeks and may need a operation if the platering dont work.So much for nothing being wrong eh Doctor!!Apart from that it was a good day with a great turnout from The PLVSC and a superb turnout altogether with hundreds of scooters in attendance.The sunny weather always helps these events.Once again thanks to you all.Now to get her scooter sorted! |

Message : I have been sorting out the Replicas/PLVSC T Shirts for a couple of weeks and now they are to be printed up in the next few days.Good quality T Shirts and they look smart.They have got The Replicas on the front in the Red,White and Blue band logo thats is the same as the one on the banner i had made for the band and the PLVSC club crest on the back the same as our club ones.£14.50 to buy,design and print them and around 50p to 75p per top to post them to us because its a firm from The Isle of Wight making them.The most the t shirts will be is £15.25 each.All in all i think thats a good deal as there is a fair bit of printing to be done on each T Shirt front and back and they did not charge us a set up fee which a lot of companys do. |

per T ! . In my opinion thats too much. If anyone can find a firm to do them our logo (3 colours) front and our slogan (2 colours) . Plus the plvsc logo (3 colours) is the info they will need. There must be someone / firm who could do it ,so they are sold at £15 or less per T shirt ! |

Message : Here are a few of events and rideouts with times etc on which we are attending in June.This Sunday 7th june we are riding to Euro Lambretta in Lincoln,They have a mass rideout at 10.30am and we want to be there for that so we will meet at the McDonalds near Glinton at 8.15am leaving there about 8.30am for a steady ride to Lincoln.The following Sunday the 14th June we are having a ride to Melton Mowbray to meet other scooterists for the ride to Rutland Water(Abscond to the Pond).They are leaving Melton at Noon so we will meet at the Cherry Tree at 9.30am leaving there about 9.45am for a nice ride to Melton.On Sunday 21st June the PLVSC have been invited to put a club display/stand up in Central Park as part of the Peterborough Festival celebrations so we will be doing this.We have to be set up by 10am so if you can please make it on your scooter be there by 9.30am(you can still come later but try to be early)If you can attend this please let me know.See you all soon.Thanks |

Message : Les i think i am going to The Roade Rally i did last year mate.Some of us are also attending The Shed Rally,Camber Sands,Abscond to the Pond,Strangetown,Cleethorpes,and definately Mersea Island.Other rallies have not been talked about yet but we will definately attend more.We have also been invited to put on a club display/stand for a Charity Event at Sacrewell Farm on August 9th to raise funds for Age Concern and The Make a Wish Foundation and also to attend the Peterborough Festival and put a club display/stand up on Sunday June 12th.We were invited for the whole weekend but it is The Roade Rally on the Fri and Sat so we can only do the Sunday.Unless people who cant go to Roade want to put a PLVSC display/stand up for the Saturday(June 11th) too.Hope this helps a bit Steve.It will be good to attend the local events as it gets the club in the public eye more.Who can come to both of them or only one of them (obviously with there scooters)? Went north from boro via maxey and west deeping, then headed toward bourn on the back road that runs parrelel with the A15,coming out by waterside garden ctr then back on the A15 bourn road. Into bourn then west toward greatford, via the A121 to Stamford, passing toft and ryhall. Quick stop at morrisons, so Currie could get some tokens from the magic money machine in the wall, then off to barnack via uffington. Nice pint and some mental pork scratchings and sensual olives (lol) at the Millstone in Barnack,then back to boro via ufford and marholm. No pictures for the site as we didnt have boss with us : ) Cheers to Ed satday dave and currie. Just gotta get me cream harrington de fly and bugged now : ) ta fellas it was a good run. |
