Next sunday ( july 5th ) the replicas are doing a special gig in the function suite at the cherry tree. Free entry and we are on at 7pm. The bands day was called off due 2 the council not giving the venue an outside music licence. But we felt that too many people were gonna turn up (not just 4 us) so we wanted to also give the expectant crowd something. There will be another act on at 6pm in the bar area. It is also for charity,nuf said ! So hopefully we will see you there. Many thanx to all those flyer hand outs at the shed wkndr ...very sensibly done

Message : What a great weekend.Stamford on friday night to watch The Replicas.Good gig but where were the people of Stamford?!There loss!Saturday was Andy & Nickys wedding Anniversary party and bbq and what a day and night it was!Great fun and plenty of dancing and drinking!Thank to them both for a great party.Then on Sunday it was down to Central Park,Peterborough for the Peterborough festival for a PLVSC stand/display with a good turnout from the club in attendance with their scooters.I think we went down well and got a lot of admirers.Thanks to everyone who turned up for your support.Next event is the Shed Rally this weekend coming at the Plough Farcet Fen.If you are coming look out for the PLVSC village of Gazebos,tents and a bbq!Rob C will be there from about 12.30pm on Friday to start setting up if you fancy helping him nip down.Cheers

Message : I want to say a big thank you to all of you for your kindness. It is very much appreciated. I do feel a bit stupid for not seeing the diesel. After all these years of riding on two wheels I must have let my guard down. Despite the hot weather glad I had all my bits covered up - learnt my lesson as a pillion rider when I was 17. Take it from me, gravel is horrible to pick out of your skin! Anyway, I am really pleased that whilst I lay in the road it helped you all to avoid the diesel and BIG .. no ... MASSIVE thanks for not running me over!!!! Thanks to all of you who helped at the time especially to Grinner for picking my scooter off the road and to Rob for taking it home in your van. Message : Thanks to everyone for your kind messages regarding Sherries scooter accident on the way home from Rutland Water yesterday and thanks to you all for your help at the scene and to Rob for taking her scooter home in his van.As Simon already said we had to go to the hospital twice as the first doctor was SHITE and released her saying there was nothing wrong with her hand(no strapping no painkillers no help at all!!) and he didnt even check her hip!On the way home she was in agony and her thumb kept coming out of the socket so we went back.After another 2 hours in there she was checked again by a good doctor and her hand around the thumb area was broken.Not only that the force of the blow had ripped her ligament off her bone pulling a bit of bone off the main bone!She will be in plaster for 4 to 6 weeks and may need a operation if the platering dont work.So much for nothing being wrong eh Doctor!!Apart from that it was a good day with a great turnout from The PLVSC and a superb turnout altogether with hundreds of scooters in attendance.The sunny weather always helps these events.Once again thanks to you all.Now to get her scooter sorted!

Message : I have been sorting out the Replicas/PLVSC T Shirts for a couple of weeks and now they are to be printed up in the next few days.Good quality T Shirts and they look smart.They have got The Replicas on the front in the Red,White and Blue band logo thats is the same as the one on the banner i had made for the band and the PLVSC club crest on the back the same as our club ones.£14.50 to buy,design and print them and around 50p to 75p per top to post them to us because its a firm from The Isle of Wight making them.The most the t shirts will be is £15.25 each.All in all i think thats a good deal as there is a fair bit of printing to be done on each T Shirt front and back and they did not charge us a set up fee which a lot of companys do.

Message : Here are a few of events and rideouts with times etc on which we are attending in June.This Sunday 7th june we are riding to Euro Lambretta in Lincoln,They have a mass rideout at 10.30am and we want to be there for that so we will meet at the McDonalds near Glinton at 8.15am leaving there about 8.30am for a steady ride to Lincoln.The following Sunday the 14th June we are having a ride to Melton Mowbray to meet other scooterists for the ride to Rutland Water(Abscond to the Pond).They are leaving Melton at Noon so we will meet at the Cherry Tree at 9.30am leaving there about 9.45am for a nice ride to Melton.On Sunday 21st June the PLVSC have been invited to put a club display/stand up in Central Park as part of the Peterborough Festival celebrations so we will be doing this.We have to be set up by 10am so if you can please make it on your scooter be there by 9.30am(you can still come later but try to be early)If you can attend this please let me know.See you all soon.Thanks

Message : Les i think i am going to The Roade Rally i did last year mate.Some of us are also attending The Shed Rally,Camber Sands,Abscond to the Pond,Strangetown,Cleethorpes,and definately Mersea Island.Other rallies have not been talked about yet but we will definately attend more.We have also been invited to put on a club display/stand for a Charity Event at Sacrewell Farm on August 9th to raise funds for Age Concern and The Make a Wish Foundation and also to attend the Peterborough Festival and put a club display/stand up on Sunday June 12th.We were invited for the whole weekend but it is The Roade Rally on the Fri and Sat so we can only do the Sunday.Unless people who cant go to Roade want to put a PLVSC display/stand up for the Saturday(June 11th) too.Hope this helps a bit Steve.It will be good to attend the local events as it gets the club in the public eye more.Who can come to both of them or only one of them (obviously with there scooters)? Went north from boro via maxey and west deeping, then headed toward bourn on the back road that runs parrelel with the A15,coming out by waterside garden ctr then back on the A15 bourn road. Into bourn then west toward greatford, via the A121 to Stamford, passing toft and ryhall. Quick stop at morrisons, so Currie could get some tokens from the magic money machine in the wall, then off to barnack via uffington. Nice pint and some mental pork scratchings and sensual olives (lol) at the Millstone in Barnack,then back to boro via ufford and marholm. Four great acts starting at 2.30pm through till 11pm in an outdoor setting,with food and beer going all day. Theres no work the following day so get down there,as these events are allways good. The replicas are on from 9pm but it will be fairly busy as all the bands have good followings, so get there before then !!

Message : Very sad to hear about the loss of Winnie, he was such a wonderful guy.
Have known Winnie as a good Buddy on the Posh terraces, they were lively times but you always felt safe in his presence as he was a big guy when the away fans took one look at him and thought hes too hard to mess with, what we all know now is that this big chep also had a huge heart and was a pleasure to know.
Was chatting to him recently and we were reminising about when we stood in the London rd terraces whilst the team were warming up, Tommy Robson, clattered this ball and Winnie turned round and it caught him full in the face, all the lands winced and then Winnies street cred went up even higher when he made it look like a fly bouncing off him, he did admit later to it hurting a bit and some 25 years later Tommy Robson was chatting to him and realised it was Winnie that caught the ball that day and profusly appologised.
Winie was really chuffed that one of our boy hood heroes had realised it was him
I know Winnie loved the Scooter and Northen scene and you could see he felt warmly embrassed when he was in the company of you guys

Message : On a brighter note there is a mass scooter rideout planned for this Monday by different clubs in the area to ride to Wells Next the Sea.Be great if we can join them.They are meeting at 10am at the Hardwick Services in Kings Lynn,the ones on the 2nd Roundabout(huge one)as you get to Lynn.PLVSC will meet at 8.30am at the Eye Green Services on the A47 and leave there about 8.40am to go to Kings Lynn.Be great to see loads of us there.If you know a member who does not have internet access and may want to come please text or ring them.Thanks.

Message : It is with deep regret that i have to tell you that PLVSC Honourary member Paul "Winnie" Winfield sadly passed away last night after a battle with cancer.If you dont recognise his name you would if you saw a photo of him.He is a great bloke.Winnie used to go to a lot of scooter events and all of our events.He used to go in his car because unfortunately due to a disability he was not able to ride a scooter but he loved them and the scene.Winnie told people that at his funeral he would love loads of scooters and scooterist to be there so we will make sure that happens for him.When the funeral details are announced i will put them on here.Our sympathy and thoughts are for his family and friends.RIP mate.
